Professional Mover — National Occupational Standards

Over the past two years, CAM’s van-line members and many CAM members have participated in the Canadian Trucking Human Resources Council initiative to produce an occupational standard for the professional mover/van foreman driver.

The results are National Occupational Standards for the Professional Mover/Van Foreman Driver Specialty. It includes a Chart of Competency and a Task Analysis. These have been posted to CAM’s website on the Industry News page in the Industry Associations section. In them you will see definitions of the skills required for a professional mover and the tasks that they perform. From this information you can develop your program to recruit, develop and maintain a skilled workforce.
