Commendation:

Milton Letkeman, General Manager of Jays Transportation Group’s Moving Division, is receiving CAMs Industry Leadership Award for his outstanding commitment, influence, and mentorship in the Canadian moving industry spanning over 35 years.

Milton began his career with Jays as a Dispatcher in 1989, quickly advancing through management roles, including launching and developing the Winnipeg branch, before returning to serve as GM for the past 16 years.

He is known for hands-on leadership that deeply connects him with all aspects of the business, from operations logistics to customer service and business development.

Milton’s philosophy is rooted in learning from the ground up, believing true leadership is best informed by direct, practical experience.  He is celebrated for creating a culture of professionalism, respect, and care throughout Jays, including developing training modules for staff, and instilling values of trust, communication, and integrity.

His mentorship extends to fostering learning and growth, and to encouraging his team to treat customers’ belongings with the utmost respect. As Milt said recently in an interview, “not very many people get invited into somebody’s home to take care of all of their precious belongings. So it is quite noble work, and we have to treat it as so.”

Milton’s message to his team is straightforward: “Say what you’re going to do and then do it,” promoting open communication and ethical service.

His influence reaches beyond Jays, with 11 years of service on the board at CAM, as well as on the boards for Atlas, and the Platinum Group.

Through these roles, Milton has shaped industry-wide policies, championed best practices, and inspired colleagues across Canada to uphold quality, professionalism, and integrity. He inspires others to follow in his footsteps.
